Bain, a US-based management consultancy that provides industry-defining solutions to the international business world, partnered with Endava on a total revamp of their internal web-based knowledge management application.
The internal system, GXC, gets approximately 1.2M hits a year, heavily weighted to the newer segments in the business, Associate Consultants and Consultants. Bain engaged Endava to design the UX and develop a complete overhaul of the backend and front-end system, code-named GXC Plus. The engagement kicked off on October 23, 2018, and Endava delivered a completely updated GXC to Bain’s entire audience on November 15, 2019.
The challenge was to take an information-heavy search engine and update it to feel more modern and, most importantly, user-friendly. The UI updates also matched the new Bain & Co branding.
Updated the navigation to be persistent, giving the user a sense of ‘where’ they are at all times and how to move around the site.
Using color and typography to highlight essential elements on the page and organize information consistently and legibly.
Organized search fields to allow the user to perform a complex task
Persistent bottom navigation allows the user to hit the ‘search’ button whenever they need to without needing to fill out the bottom section. This also accommodates any desktop/laptop screen.
The top section creates a short-hand for a quick search function, while the bottom section allows for an advanced search on a person.
